Got another problem. Can not get the activity to run correctly. After unloading passengers @ Baltimore, the sim crashes when attempting to couple to the GG1 consist. When I couple, the sim either crashes, or I have a notice that a car is derailed, or a broken coupler. Any solutions?

Hi

I've seen a "derailed' message with a different activity. I turned out to be a consist I would eventually couple to.

The actual cause was modified couplers I use on all my rolling stock to give slack action. This can also change the overall length of a string of cars. I moved that consist about one car length farther (look mommy, he spelled fart!) from the end of track and solved that problem.

If you're using non-default settings for couplers perhaps that could be a starting point for troubleshooting.

Another possible cause could be messed up coupler settings or bounding box values. Hard to analyze remotely.

Gary,

I'll take a look, but I don't know what to tell you, I tested the activity before I posted it and there were no problems with coupling.

Yes, 1.7.008... Also, the AI dispatcher will not respond to "tab" to pass red signal just before static consist (GG-1). And yes, I cleared the reverse point.

I guess I will have to give up on this one. Most times I not only lock up the Sim, but the computer and have to power down. Was finally able to couple to the static (3.3 mph) and had broken couple message. Had changed consists so that the OBS was removed and couples to a B60B.
Have no clue as to the problem. Bounding boxes look OK.

Thank you, but have deleted activity. A couple of interesting highlights.
If I do not couple to the static and move foward to couple again, pressing tab brings up the AI dispatcher. Also, changing from the PRR 1949 Combine to the B60B car will allow coupling, but a "coupler broker" message. Trying to couple to the PRR Combine results in a locked Sim.
Perhaps NEC4 was corruped when compressed to move to current system???? This was the first activity that I could not run. Have always found a work around in the past. Also may be Vista 64 & MSTS.

FYI. Created new activity using different, but sinular path and rearranged static. Sim crashed upon coupling B60B and PRR Combine. Must be something in the coupling values for each car. No adept at changing these value. Just a FYI.

Another FYI. Created test activity in the original NEC. Sim crashed on coupling. Will continue to test.

Have sucessfully coupled Obs to Combine in test activity on original NEC. Ther must be something in my copy of the NEC4 that is causing a problem. I may have to reinstall this route.
