Exterior sound alias works great, but not the cab sound.

I have copied the .sms for these cabs into a loco sound folder in order to alias the sounds. I changed the appropriate sound line in the .eng file also. But the cab sounds are more like a UFO than a loco. I don't see any patch or other comments about these sounds, so probably I have done something wrong.

Suggestions?

Yes, the Alco sound pack .sms files. Hmmm . . . if the cab is stereo, then do I need to set something somewhere for them to work? The FA and Century sounds work just fine.

If you use the Alco Sound Pack with one of my pack youhave just need to use the appropiate setup for this pack Norman, no need more of that

The FA's and Centuries (which work just fine) are from your packs. Then I tried to alias some other S2 with your S2 or S4 or RS2 sound files, but the cabs sound is distorted in each case. I was very careful to modify the .eng file, then checked with CB. Outside sound is just fine.

Yes, that is the problem. I am puzzled that the exterior sounds (e.g. S2eng.sms) work just fine but the interior sounds (e.g. S2cab.sms) don't. I must be doing something wrong.

Funny you brought this up nbeveridge - as I just encountered the same thing as well with the FJ&G engines as well. The only way I got around it was to point the .ENG file directly to the full address of the .SMS in question. IE; "..\\..\\CommonSND\\BLW\\Alco\\RS3\\RS2cab.sms" Merely copying the RS2cab.sms to the FJ&G sound folder and adjusting .ENG to say Sound ( "RS2cab.sms" ) and ( "RS2eng.sms" ) yeilds total silence?

But thankfully the full address TO the BLW folder and .sms's does make those S2's sound much better. Wink
