Hello Gaétan and Rick,
In November 2016 was released Vince Cockeram's Long Island Railroad route
(lirr_install.zip) in the trainsim site. Although it is a beta version and non signalled, it is very detailed with many marked sidings to make activities.
However, there is very little and old LIRR rolling stock in Trainsim. Is there a possibility to have one LIRR freight pack available in the future, like so many you have done over the years?
Thanks
Denis |

Salut Denis,
Chris Parker, Max Brisben and I had an LIRR passenger pack on our list. I believe we actually completed a couple of locomotives. My recollection is that, from a freight car perspective, the cars from the PRR set (PRR 1950) would be correct for LIRR, and they are available as a standalone set.
All we would need are locomotives and cabeese, maybe a few house cars.
EDIT: Actual it is the Conn River freight cars that would be support LIRR freight
Back on the list!

Well the LIRR beta is one of the most oustanding routes for a while and totally worthy of a stock pack .....but freight??? It's "raison d'etre" was always mainly commuter traffic surely?
What the route desperately cries out for is some state of the art passenger stock. The BLW/ZT "era" however would need a lot of newer models of the various EMU trains and loco hauled passenger stock.
An updated C Liner too (although the freeware version is pretty good for it's age). http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/li/lirr2006ggC.jpg
There are some brilliantly detailed EMU models around but the MP54's look little better than the default stock.

Obviously some of the LIRR's loco's are already in the BLW/ZT catalogue but we could do with some newer models and types of commuter coach? https://www.railpictures.net/photo/694297/Just look at the variety of cars in this consist : http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/li/lirr2008ggC.jpg
Going back even further the LIRR had a unique Electric loco too before the EMU's dominated. The DD1 for starters. http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/early-electric-engines/earlylirr-electric-engines.htm
They did have some unique freight cars, LI8000 series intermodal wagons.
....so one more for the "wishlist"?

Hi Geoff,
That’s been on the list since the route was released. Our friend Doug Nash has provided tons of photos for LIRR passenger equipment. This will be a very time-consuming set to put together, which is why it’s still on the list...
But, on the bright side, sometime between 2022 and 2024 I will retire!! _________________ Rick Franzosa - ZosaTrains
