This may already be on the (doubtless large) 'to-do list', and I seem to recall it being mentioned in 1 of the Train-Sim forums, but ... I'd love to see BLW/ZT fill what I have long felt was (with some exceptions of course) a huge gap in MSTS content, freeware or payware - up to date models of pre-Amtrak head-end equipment.
Even for roads like UP, SP, ATSF, CRIP, CBQ, PRR, NHRR (and others) that had a big volume of mail/express traffic at one time, it is often hard to find good/up to date models of RPOs, Baggage & Combos ... low-profile Reefers and REA high-speed express Boxcars, etc ... from the transition era, when many "passenger" trains had consists that were ~50% head-end cars - and all of the above-mentioned roads had many trains that were pure mail/express trains.
Just my humble opinion, but I'd like to see heavily weathered head-end equipment as well, since a lot of the mail/express cars did not get the normal care & feeding that RRs generally tried to give their roster stars & flagship trains in the 40s-50s-60s streamliner era.
I'd very happily pony up some $$$ for a nice 'Head-End Equipment Pack' with content like what I've described above, lettered for a variety of roads. Seems like a project that would be in the BLW/ZT wheelhouse, and maybe could make use of some existing shape files as a starter.
Regardless - thanks for all you folks provide - although my spouse may not agree when our credit card bill arrives & yet another month has been filled with purchases for BLW/ZT sets that I just could not resist. |

I just saw this post...
I am interested in the same type of cars, but for CN and CP in before VIA-era. The cars i am interested are those built for the CN in 1954 by Pulmann
And for CN, in the 2 color scheme, the pre and post 1960's.
The CPR 1955 set contains some, but i would enjoy more numbers, as for more Skyline Dome cars, Diner cars and Park cars.
The CN Passenger Pack contains only the post 1960 scheme. As with the CP, more cars are welcome and more type of sleepers. Some types of the CN cars were also in GT service for both color scheme, those too would be welcome.
Thanks |
