Just some information for those who may have encountered this in OR, I'm not sure if it has been mentioned in this forum.
Suggest reading thread at Elvas for specifics.
The steam wagon (designed as an engine file) will not run in OR as designed.
This is neither an OR bug or a design flaw. This excellent model was made for and runs well in MSTS, however, a modification should be made to the file to enable running in ORTS.
Following are initial changes to file ... underlined and in bold. Refinements should be made by the users to suit individual taste and steam operating procedures.

Yes sir it does. I just checked it in MSTS.
I would recommended that the sections I changed (using copperpen at Elvas suggestions) should be checked and adjusted if needed by someone you trust who understands steam. That is beyond my expertise.

Additional issue found.
Also Rick, there seems to be a problem when running this in ORTS with the steam itself... It increases with throttle, and darkens to grey at idle... I do not think this is prototypical in the slightest for one of these girls!  |
