I was by the NCTM today, and got some pictures of the interior of the Sleeper-Lounge car Crescent Harbor, including an interior of the sleeping compartment. I was wondering if by chance these would be of interest to you on maybe adding a interior in the sleeper-lounge for the Southern Crescent pack? That was really a highlight of the Crescent, and after being in it, I can see why!!!

Here's an album of the photos I took: http://imgur.com/a/Kvevu

If you ever get back there, try to get some shots of Room C, and particularly the Annex of Room C. That was the Master Room, and the Annex was a full bathroom, with real tile, and even a full shower. That was one of only six such accommodations built by Pullman in the post-war era. Four were in this series for the Southern Railway, and the other two were in Mountain View and Tower View on the PRR.

You were in a Drawing Room, probably Room A. That too was slightly nicer than your average Drawing Room. For example, notice that the Southern specified a porcelain bowl, not stainless steel.

Too bad about the carpet in the lounge area.

I did get to see the other rooms, and they were -nice-. However the other ones were too dark for photos, sadly. And I agree, carpet in the lounge would have been nice for sure. Still was an amazing feeling to be in that car, an ACTUAL SOU Lounge-Sleeper.

Hi Jeremy,

I'll take a look, sure.

After the GP30 East is released (and the Rutland set), I'll be getting back into passenger car mode.

Hi Jeremy

(Two conversations at once!)

Ironically, I was at NCTM in November and walked right by Crescent Harbor... I had other prey that I was hunting, and a tight timeframe....

Oh that's cool! Yeah Crescent Harbor normally isn't open to the public though and such. Most of their stuff isn't. They tend to be for safety's sake tight on letting people in stuff, haha. But, yeah. Hope ya liked it and got some good shots of ol' ACL 501, the last E3. Lemme know when you're in the area!

I'll keep that in mind, Jeremy.

My son is stationed at Ft Bragg, so NCTM is not too far from where he lives (90 miles or so).

I did not take shots of 501. The locomotive I was after was, unfortunately, in the shop, so I didn't get great shots, but enough to get started....

Ohh, ok! They don't run her much anymore, unfortunately. Last I saw her the other day, she was sitting in the far end of the Roundhouse out of the shop on what may be for now, permanent static display.
