I'm having trouble with the new GP30's concerning uncoupling in a multi loco consist. I was using three CP GP30's, #5000, 5001, I don't remember the exact unit numbers now as I've changed the consist, and wanted to "drop" the middle unit, facing front and the third unit facing rear, but couldn't. No matter how I tried to uncouple the second unit, it just wouldn't uncouple. I've always used Jim Wards front coupler hack 709 which works about 99.9% of the time. Any ideas on this, as all input is appreciated.

Have you succesful uncoupling first engine from the head with other engines

I just tried to uncouple them again on the adjacent track, but the second unit, facing front, won't uncouple I did this in Explore mode this time, but still won't uncouple. I tried to uncouple on the fly, and shoved a little before going forward, but still nothing. I'm now trying the same consist on a different route and they won't uncouple there either. It's always the second unit facing front that won't uncouple. The third unit, facing rear uncouples fine.
I just tested different units on the route and they too will not uncouple the second unit, facing front, so maybe there is something wrong with the route. So for now, I'll adjust my consists so I don't need to uncouple them. Not a big deal anyway, just wanted to fix the problem if possible.
Thanks,
Jim |

After you double click on the coupler in F9, move away as slowly as you can to keep the couplers from re-engaging. It's an MSTS thing. |

I tried creating a similar locomotive consist and had no trouble uncoupling them. The front coupler bug is most commonly found when two locomotives are coupled nose to nose, which is not the case as I understand it. If you're uncoupling an a down grade, try setting some hand brakes on a few cars. Leave the locomotive brakes on slightly on the lead engine, and pull away slowly. _________________ Tim Baldwin
