I just purchased the Milw Hiawatha and GN Empire Builder sets. Wonderful. And, the bonus packs are truly icing on the cake. Thanks to all involved in the creation and distribution.

I do have one question: the only inside views I've got are those from the cab(s). Can someone explain how to access the alternative interior views - for example, the views from the Hiawatha dome car and skytop observation lounge? (Im running the last "stable" MSTS Bin release, in case that matters).

Thanks in advance,

cs

It's easy if you have MSTSbin

run F9 (consist) and click on the car you need to see with your mouse

after use the 5 key for go inside Wink

... adding a bit more to Gaetan's reply. In the F9 popup, if the car windows are white there's a "5" view and if grey, there's not (that's only true if you're using MSTSbin otherwise you can't switch the "5" view without editing files).

Thanks for the replies. That is what I was trying to do. But, no joy so far. F9 brings up the consist box, but clicking on any car inside the box immediately crashes the sim - monitor goes black and after about 20 to 30 seconds the send/don't send dialog box comes up. I've never seen this behavior before.

Any ideas?

cs

ps: Thanks again for the bonus packs.

As I indicated in my first post, I am running MSTS Bin - v1.7.051922.

Running the Hiawatha, F9 brings up the consist box shown in the image below. Clicking on any of the cars (or anything else) shown inside the box does nothing; trying to scroll to the right in order to show additional cars crashes the sim.

Wow ! you have an strange problem , work fine here and you are the first
who report this kind of problem ????

You don't see the icons for the engines ???

one solution i have for you is edit all wag & eng files and remove the inside section , keep only the Skytop inside view

or maybe if you have time , rename your Msts folder in MSTS_temp
reinstall MSTS original with 1.2 patch + Bin + Hiawatha, with that you make sure you can have not another software who give an conflict

It looks as if at least some of the files for icons in the F9 window that are specific for MSTS Bin and should have been installed by MSTS Bin are missing.

I would try to uninstall MSTS Bin and see if the F9 window looks normal after that and you can scroll along the whole length of your train without crashing MSTS.

If everything is ok, you can install MSTS Bin again and see if it works now.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try uninstalling/re-installing MSTS Bin later today after I return home. I'll post back to report the outcome.

By the way, feel free to move this thread to the Troubleshooting section if you wish - it was not my intention to bog down the General Discussion area with my situation (I anticipated that the solution would have been less problematic).

Thanks again,

cs

I uninstalled and re-installed MSTS Bin and now everything is working fine. Extra views galore.

Thanks, everyone.
