If time travel were possible, and I could go, I wouldn't go back to hear Lincoln's Gettysburg Address or to witness the Wright Bros. First Flight. I would go solely just to ride the Super Chief. Chicago to Kansas City to Los Angeles in 39h 45m. A day a night and a day. The Super Chief was an all-First Class ride.

wow! Those sure bring back memories. I grew up in that era in California, and travelled the rails from Chicago to LA back in the day. What a treat that set will be and a great improvement on what we had before thanks for sharing the pics and the hard work on all that equipment!

I remember when that train was the pinnacle of travel! My what a nice trip down memory lane.

though I wonder how many Santa Fe Super Chiefs I need. I have the E set, the troop train set, the F7 set all from Valleypass. The only thing I can think of that I would need here is the observation car and perhaps (though not included here) an FTA that was updated to these standards.

These look GREAT, but I think the saturation point is nearly reached unless some corn and blue colors start to appear...

With this set the F3 is a little bit different paint scheme and real F3 fans

One can never have enough war bonnets. Rolling Eyes

Here is a thought for an additional bonus for the set. The El Capitan, which was an all-coach version of the Super Chief. Same route, Chicago-KC-LA. There is a wiki link here, including drumhead picutes and consist info-

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Capitan_(train)

I believe most of Santa Fe's chair car stock went to Amtrak. So the cars are already available through those sets.
