I am just curious if any thought has been given to pre-merger six axle power to be made. By this, I am looking for SD-45s, F-45s, U33Cs and perhaps SDP-40s and SDP45s. I know you can find SD-45 downloads over on the MSTS site, but they require cut and paste this and that to make it work and I have issues with that as being not able to make it work THe F-45 is the same cab(kind of) as an SD-45 so it would not be hard to make that work. I wish that I did programing besides hardware when I went to tech school some decades ago, then I could "Do it yourself", but I didn't and can't do it. I like the payware models found here and they ARE the best availble The SDP-40 and SDP-45s WERE the locos the GN used in the mid to late 60s before the merger and as much as I like F units, the Sky Blue F units look a little odd on the Empire Builder for that period Sky Blue SDP-45s would be perfect. So I was curious as I said about the possibility of seeing six axle EMD units made in the future. Other roads could be made for the SD-45 and F-45 besides GN. Maybe six axle GE units would be nice too as well. Perhaps you could make them a Second generation loco pack for railroads. Maybe some of the Eastern roads could have six axle Alco units, say RSD-15s or something. Just an idea. I really lovethe stuff you guys make here Rocky |

Hi Rocky,
Thanks for the kind words.
In order to produce payware models for BLW & ZosaTrains we need three things. Models (which Gaetan and I can produce using TSM), sounds and cabviews.
The problem with the 645 equipped EMD models (2nd generation) and GE U-Boats is that we do not have cabviews or sounds available that we can offer in a payware model. The sounds and cabviews that you might find on trainsim.com are freeware, we cannot use them in payware sets. As a matter of fact, Gaetan already has detailed a completed models for some 567 equipped EMD units (SW1200, NW2, etc.) that have sounds but no cabviews.
We will keep looking for sources for these sounds and cabviews, maybe we will have a solution in the future.

Hello Rocky.
Can I add myself to this topic?
I also placed a similar request to Gaetan ad Rick, at least the possibility of having an Amtrak SDP40F. There is something on msts sites, but that is not really good compared to certain levels of quality to wich we are now accustomed.
I tried to test the waters on others sites forums but I think of understanding that there is not much interest in certains locomotives from fans. Visiting the web, there are several productions of F and E units, several freeware and some others payware. I think that it is depending on the fact that the E and F units well represent the tractive rolling stock of North American rails more than other locos. Furthermore, it is undeniable that their design has a certain charm...
About F45 and FP45, you have the possibilty to find some good productions on the web, some free and some payware. There is a model of BN F45 on Train-Sim.com and it is free. Furthermore it has a very good cabview. This latest requires the download of another cabview from the same site ( always free ) that you would install in your CommonCab folder into your Trainset folder in your TrainSimulator installation. It is a very good cab for that model, it is based on photorealistic textures and you can use that for other locos as well, perhaps modifying some textures.
I did so for making my personal cab for F40PH. For doing that I only used the simplest of graphics programs: Paint of Microsoft. I must say that I got a good result. By others graphic programs, you would be able to change the paint scheme and then to create models of others companies. It is certain you have to be able to use those programs, but by a little of experience ( by the time ) you can get good result for you. Just one have no to expect to reach some kind of exceptional results.
About sounds, you have to satisfy with wath you find on the web. There is always a compromise. About above BN F45, I've to say the attached sound is also very good. I don't know if that sound is it belongs to the real EMD F45, but I've to say it's very good.
However, Gaetan and Rick are very BIG. We just have to wait, I'm sure we will see other beautiful models. Give it some time.
Hi to all. At the next.

The Minnesota Transporation Museum has an SW1200 and SW-1, http://www.mtmuseum.org/jsr/roster/
Would cab photos from these locomotives be useful in creating cab views for new sets? |

Hello Giuliano,
Not at all does it bother me for you to add to this thread In fact, it does help the cause to get more locos and rolling stock. I have seen and downloaded a set of 3 F45s from the MSTS forum library, but haven't unpacked them yet. In fact, before I can do anything more, I have to clean out my GN Hi Line route and reload it. I screwed something up when upgrading it to version 4 and found I messed it up and then replaced it with version 3 now it just crashes Oh well, it's a learning thing. I do my best train work modeling GN and NP in G scale(LGB size). As for the MTM(Minnesota Transportation Museum) I worked with them and with a former Wisconsin Central Engineer back about 10-15 years ago. They have a bunch of nice pieces of equipment also including the GN 400 SD-45. There was 4 steamers there too, 2 NP and 2 Soo Line when I moved away from Minnesota. Be nice to see what they have now. Last I heard, they had aquired an old GN SDP-40 and I saw it a couple years ago at the Osceola WI Depot on my second to last trip back to Minnesota. It was still in the BN paint, but what a sight to see. I even got to go over and touch it !!!! Well someday we may see it run again in it's original paint scheme Well folks, I got to run and maybe fix my GN Hi Line before going into work. Thanks again to the ValleyPass folks for all their fine work and this great forum for us to talk in

He Rocky... never listen about GN_High Line V4.0 . The correct name of the route is "GN_High Line (Maria Pass 4)" and lastest release is V3.4 . If i know not the newest version so please tell it. But please look for correct version names, because, its easier to understand difficults and differents.
