Hello.
When playing GN_HI route, both when running in explore route and running an activity, I'm no able to hearn sound in cab in Havre or Shelby stations. Did that problem occur at someone of you? If yes, how did you resolve that one?
Activity "1974 Amtrak Empire Builder part 1 - 2 ad 3": apart loss of cabsound in Have and Shelby, sometime MSTS go in crash just started the activity and other times go in crash after two or three minutes. Sometime, after crash of MSTS, turning off of PC occurs accompanied by a blue screen with several incomprehensible white lettering.
That above problem doesn't occur with default activity or in explore route mode.
How can I resolv these problems?
Thank all.

Giuliano

Giuliano,

I have run one of the GN Empire Builder Activities but did not experience any loss of cab sounds in Havre or Shelby or any crashes, although the FPS were very low (around 10) in some places. I have to say that my PC is not the greatest.

Have you installed "MSTS bin"? The loss of sound could be caused by MSTS running out memory. "MSTS bin" helps a lot with this problem.

I've had that in those areas. Those places are so memory intensive. The loss happens when you change from a cab view to any other view, such as external, or going to a passenger car view. If you go back to the cab view, you have no sounds until you leave that area. Even though I run 2 GB of RAM, my system gets overwhelmed by some routes. GN Hi Line isn't the only one it happens with. Not much you can do about it that I have seen.

Thanks for your answers.
I've 3 Gb of RAM and a Quad Core Cpu besides a Nvidia graphic card of 768MB of own memory. I installed MSTS BinPatch 1.8.052113en. FPS remains in any case high, despite the crash. Only GH_HI creates that problem. Ok. It's because of the route that is very thirsty of memory. There is not solution.
Thanks to all.

Giuliano.

The "solution" is to not leave the cab view. The sound disappears only in these yard areas, and only going from external back to an internal view. External sounds are there, at least on mine.

I have a similar issue in Maybrook on the Lehigh and Hudson River route (circa 1940s version.) That particular yard is so intensive in shapes and other items. But it seems once I've cleared the yard and just start on the L&HR line, it comes back to full function where the track narrows down to single track.
