just wandering if you guys thought about making the silver star consist from the mid to late 80s with the buffet diners and amfleet II coaches. I know that many people would jump on that because those were the true glorydays of amtrak with the f40s and amfleet coaches.

I don't believe that Gaetan has Amfleet II shapes.

I will be releasing a Heritage Silver Star and Silver Meteor with E8s, both Amtrak and 'patched' SCL.

I must confess I am not a fan of Amfleet or F40s. The glory days to me were pre-Amtrak Laughing

I just found this site and bought some sets.I rode the Silver Star and Silver Meteor growing up.I rode from Jacksonville Fl to NYC and back, the years were 1964 to 1970 and I have to say that those were the great years of train travel.I would go up and see family and we would have a bedroom in the sleeper get on about 5pm before dinner where than they served the food on real dishes not plastic. We would wake up in the morning and have breakfast and watch coming into New York City.I have a lot of great memories of those trips.

I rode the Southern Crescent from DC to Atlanta to visit a friend in 1975 (pre Amtrak takeover of the Crescent). Same deal, china, silver and about the best food I've ever had....
