|
|
Big question, "Is it ever to late to ask for a bonus up date to a pack?" Point in question, while doing a little research for another projetc I came across some info I did not know existed with the SOO LINE Railroad, they owned a single SD9. Here is the historical background on the unit: the original Wisconsin Central Railroad purchased a single SD9 for the Milwaukee Turn and for use as pusher service on Byron Hill, which is south of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. In time this assignment was discontinued and the unit moved into the everyday operations of the system wide newly merged SOO LINE in 1961. This unit remained in service until its retirement in 1984. Here are some shots...the question is "Would you paint the unit as a bonus for the SD9 WEST PACK?"

Gaetan, would you ever consider doing a low nosed model? I know you like to keep your models in the 1940s-1960s era, but a high quality, low nosed SD9 would be greatly appreciated to see. There are a lot of railroads out there that bought their SD9s, rebuilt with low hoods. Just an idea. _________________ Thom |

An SD18/SD24 would be another welcome addition to the BLW fleet. _________________ Tim Baldwin

:wink:Good day Gaetan, well I'm trying to keep this posting interest going, thus a question. Did the SD9 shots I posted for the DM&IR, EJ&E, SP KODACHROME, MRL and of course the single SD9 owned by the SOO LINE draw your interest for roads that could be possible repaints I looked for the rare roads that did not have as many in the paint schemes shown, hopefully you will give us and up date and keep the interest going. Thanks for your time and as always, cooperation. Skip |

Good evening Gaetan, well while I was checking up on the AMTRAK sets I thought I would see if there was any news on the SD9 power additions? I hope the lone SOO LINE SD9 is on the production line. Will keep an eye out for any up dates. Take care, Skip |

Good evening Gaetan, well only a few days left and another year has passed like vintage locomotives to the march of time. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=308502&nseq=155
Thought I would just check in an see if you have any up dates to a possible new SD9 set or additional units to be added to sets one may already own. In the mean time, A HAPPY NEW YEAR to two great train fans and vintage producers of past roads....job well done Gaetan and Rick Take care, Skip |
