Oh, nice!
Do you know what power this set will have? Can we hope for both E (the most common) and F (will look quite at home on the highline and in Califonia) units?

My thoughts at this point:
E's (East & Midwest)
F's (West)
RS3s (Northeast)
GP9s (MOW)
S2 (Terminal)
RS1 (Terminal)

You got me this time. I'm looking forward to adding this to my fairly big Amtrak collection on MSTS. I'm sure the cars alone would be great with the F45's available at Train-Sim, and the GG1s in the Amtrak colors that Rick did.

as long as I don't have to see a P452 Genesis, or Amfleet beer can, I'm all set. The early days of Amtrak were very interesting, and very. very colorful. I'd love to see an EMD E-8 in the black paint scheme (I always found that one interesting for some reason ) Looks promising

Quite right. The E8 in the photo is a Penn-Central unit painted right at the beginning of Amtrak. The lifting lugs on the nose, by the door, give away that this unit is former PRR.
Also, since the management of Penn-Central was very freight traffic oriented, quite a few PRR people moved their careers to Amtrak. So there is more than a little bit of continuity from PRR to Amtrak.

It's nice to see that it will be the phase 1 (or original) livery. The only other heritage cars I have are mostly in the phase 3 and 4 liveries. The only other phase 1 and 2 jobs are the Amtrak California Zephyr and some of Buzz Benz's baggage cars. As for the new equipment, I have enough Genesis and Superliners to almost rival Amtrak. I would still like to see the Amfleet 1 cars in the phase 1 or 2 liveries as well as the Amfleet 2 cars.

OK, slowly but surely, here's a status update with the one-of-a-kind Amtrak #4316. Still need to throw on the lifting lugs....

I'm definatly looking forward to buying that set. That is a rare livery if I'm correct.
