I downloaded and installed PRR Freight Equipment and Passenger Equipment with no problems. I unzipped the files and installed them in my PRR mini-route.
ConBuilder and my own investigation of the eng.sms files for the various ALCO engines indicates that the following folders are missing from ../../Common.Snd/BLW/ALCO
C424
C430
FA
RS3
S4
The only two folders I find in the ALCO folder are CEN & PA.
There are no problems with the EMD common sounds.
VISTA/SP1 PRR is installed on a drive dedicated to TrainSim.
I have searched the hard drive for the missing folders but they are not to be found anywhere. That is quite a list of missing folders. Am I missing something obvious? |

No ALCO sound pack and I guess that is the problem - I ran the program to update the ALCO .sms files to use the ALCO sound pack. I thought I clicked on cancel when it said it would install the upgrade.
Apparently I allowed the ACLO pack upgrade to continue. When I reinstalled the original two equipment packs I find that the Xeng.sms files do not contain the aliased reference to the common.snd folder.
Is the ALCO sound pack worth the money?
I'm new to all this eastern railroad stuff. Before PRR I had never installed or operated a RR east of the Mississippi. I don't use many ACLO engines in my western railroad activities. |

Yes, definitely! The best Alco sounds that are available for MSTS and truely unique among all MSTS engine sounds!

I agree with Uli. The Alco sound pack contains some of the most accurate loco sounds in MSTS. Truly a work of art.
