With all the great geep's coming out,is there any chance a DL&W and ERIE Geep is in the works? I have the EL geeps and looking forward to the B&M. Keep up the good work Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Dave

I would say yes to both. I am planning a 'Maybrook' set to go with Richard Shirey's forthcoming 1940s L&HR (although GP9s may be a little too new Smile )

Probably out winter/early spring

On the Erie and the DL&W the geeps were almost all GP7. The Erie had just a handful of GP9, and the Lackawanna didn't have any at all. The GP7 was introduced in 1949, so they technically do fit properly into a 1940s theme route.

But about that era - In 1949 dieselization was right around the corner, and within five years steam was getting rare all over. But, except for the change in motive power, the railroads weren't really changing too much yet. Into the 1960s many of the signature items of the steam era were still around, like 40 foot box cars, wooden cabooses, semaphore signals, etc.

So, if you have a "steam era" route and you want to run the GP9 or other first generation power it should all fit right in.
