Hi

I am looking for sound files

x_F40PH-2C_idle.wav
x_F40PH-2C_run8.wav
x_CAT_HEPgen.wav
x_NPCU_bell.wav
sil.wav

These are supposed to be in the Common.Snd\MLW_645 folder
but are not.

I would appreciate and guidance on where to get these files, I am a member of the Valley Pass club.

regards

Daniel

Hi

The "MLW" is probably referring to "Midwest Locomotive Works" which has some sound files available at the TrainSim.com file library. The latest was mlw645turbo.zip released on Christmas Day although I don't think those files are in that set.

Daniel,

I have those files, but they are in the folder "...\Common.Snd\MLW_F40PH-2C". I think this folder was created when I installed the "MLW MPI F40PH-2C Sound Pack" which is available at Train-Sim.com. The filename is "mlwf40-1.zip".

I just found the reason for your question. The WAV files are required by the "Scalabilty Group 3" sounds of the new MLW 645 sound pack. If you have maxed your sound options sliders in MSTS, you won't miss them. Maybe their reference is an unintentional leftover in the SMS files from the F40 sound pack.
