Guys,
The Amtrak set is getting way out of hand
At this point, I have about 350 Meg of rolling stock completed, probably 400 Meg when you add in cab and sound files. 28 Budd passenger cars, 19 P-S and ACF passenger cars, 8 E8s, 4 F7s, 2 RS1s, 2 RS3s. I've also mixed in some 'not-yet-painted-Amtrak' locos & cars for variety (BN, GN, UP, NP, SCL, PC, B&O)
Each Amtrak passenger car has been 'individualized' with different window shade positions, end door numbers, etc. Makes for a ton of texture files!!
We are in the process of breaking up the set into 'regional' sets so that we can manage the size of the downloads. This will also allow me to add-in some of the items that people have requested (E9, heater cars).
Here's where we are now (subject to change). The first two sets are close to 200Meg each:
Northeast set:
Broadway Limited (3 E8s - 15 cars)
National Limited (3 E8s - 11 cars)
Alco RS3
Alco/EMD RS3M
Southeast set:
Silver Star (4 E8s - 19 cars - Miami and Tampa sections)
Washington Terminal RS-1s
Northwest set:
Empire Builder (4 F7s - 12 cars, incl some BN, NP & GN cars)
Hiawatha (not started yet - E9s, ex-Milwaukee cars?)
Southwest set:
Coast Starlight (not started yet)
Sunset Limited (not started yet)
The first two sets have been delivered to Gaetan for beta testing, probably will be released in September. The others? well, I have work to do
Thanks

Interesting, very interesting........ Me thinks that many of use train fans aare taking a great interest and liking to what we have seen thus far of your AMTRAK work. Good news, as far as I am concerned. Looks like we will have many vintage AMTRAK trains to run on our routes. Thanks for the good news up date. Skip |

Thanks, Skip.
To be fair, if I had ANY idea how much work this would be, I may not have started down this path..... just kidding, of COURSE I would!
I'll add more detail as I have it.

Rick,
I like the layout of the sets--provides both regional and national perspective. Myself, despite living on the West Coast, have a decided interest in the East Coast. Kudos for your industry--what an undertaking! And, yet again, a superior release from BLW!!
PS: Does Gaetan have any plans related to RailWorks? BLW's quality seems a perfect fit for this graphics-capable sim.
Keep 'em rolling,

Thanks Gaetan for the reply. No rush, I just know how good your stuff is and how it might look if such a conversion could take place.
In the meantime, the MSTS creations are more than adequate; in fact, outstanding.
