It was 18 months ago that I contacted Gaetan Belanger about the possibility of reskinning his beautiful Alco FA-1. As a New Haven fan, I wanted a model that accurately portrayed the early versions of the FA as owned by the New Haven. That simple request led to the December 2006 release of our first collaboration (New Haven Red/Black McGinnis set) and 18 months and 9 sets later, I've finally gotten around to finishing what I started (New Haven set 2)!!
The screenies are from an activity I'm building with both New Haven sets.
The 'Drop Job' was a diesel-powered peddler freight that served customers on non-electrified sidings on the electrified west end of the NYNH&H between New Haven and New York. This version runs on the Mountain Electric route. It features seventeen switching moves and twelve AI trains.
It's 8:00 AM and you can see the two NH DERS-2c's (Alco RS-3s) pulling out of Bridgeport Transfer yard....
... headed out to Bridgeport West.
Snaking across the main to get to the industries on the north side.....
The first six cars are cutoff and we head up the spur to StanCo Cement and ImpEx Trading....
Switching at StanCo...
reassembling the cut of cars, ready to head back to Bridgeport west...
MORE TO COME!!
