A 1949 built postwar steel boxcar - new enough to have a 10'6" interior height, post-war end but still with a Murphy panel roof.

This car had a Morton roofwalk, which looked a little different than the usual open grid:

here is the next installment, from the Grand Trunk Railroad, which was almost an honorary home road, being part of the CN system. These are two ordinary postwar boxcars, the first with an earlier CN system livery from just after the war and the earlier Murphy roof and the next a standard 40' PS-1. Note the difference from the riveted sides to the welded side of the PS1.

A PS-1 boxcar . . . the most boring paint scheme you could come up with. There were a fair number of reporting marks only paint schemes floating around at the time and they are under-represented in the set because in a fuzzy photo it's hard to tell who owns the boxcar with no logo.
And a rebuilt former wood boxcar that's been given a murphy roof. Interior height on this car is 10 feet, just six inches shorter than the postwar PS1 and in-line with the ninteen thirties state of the art. I think I actually goofed a little in including this paint scheme in a set targeted for 1956 as the 1959 painted car shows that paint scheme that did not start until the 1957 merger with the Nashille, Chattanoga & St. Louis.

Maine Central boxcars. Not so common on the Conn River, but a major connecting railroad for B&M so since they might be valuable for uses of the set on Paul Raynes' other B&M routes I bumped it up to two cars. The green paint scheme is the latest in 1956, the circle logo from the forties. It's a "1932" boxcar with a low height in green and a "1923" ARA design (model by Tim Muir, texture by Rick Franzosa). A whole batch of the early ARA boxcars were photographed at the feed mill in Westminster VT. MEC cars were regulars in interchange to the Green Mountain Railroad in Bellows Falls.

A PS1 boxcar and a rebuilt boxcar with a much shorter interior height, older murphy ends and new diagonal panel roof.

A 50' auto box and a home-built 40' boxcar from Norfolk & Western Railroad. N&W had unique side sill profiles.

Considering all the freights on the Conn River line connected directly with the New haven, it is surprising there weren't more Nh cars online, but there didn't seem to be. This is a "1937" boxcar - texture by Rick Franzosa. It is a duplicate (but with different number) of a car in the Pennsylvania RR 4 set if my memory serves me right.

Texas & Pacfic 40' boxcar, rebuilt from wood to steel. It has original roof and Murphy end, but got a new steel roofwalk along with steel sides.
