http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=425664&nseq=2 The question is this..."are there others of you besides myself that would be interested in seeing a WC Freight Pack being created by Gaetan?"....Gaetan put out freight Packs for the BN, Soo Line, NP and Frisco to mention just a few. I would like to ask Gaetan to create a WC Freight Pack which would be made up of the roads early power with various paint schemes from such roads as the SOO, C&NW, Algoma Central etc . What are your thoughts? In advance, thank you for taking the time to read over this request. Skip

I would be interested in a Wisconsin Central freight pack. Did they operate in Madison, Wisconsin?

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=390968&nseq=2381 Good day, thanks for answering the forum question and showing support for a WC Freight Pack. As to your question of the WC going into Madison, no to the best of my knowledge...if they did it would have to be by trackage right and I do not believe that was the case either. It would be my hopes that if Gaetan creates this pack it would be power from his past creations with the early paint schemes and decaling used by the WC. Hope to continue to post early shots with various power paint schemes to gain more interest. Skip

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=516168&nseq=34 By the number of views, looks like there is some interest in the Wisconsin Central. Have been sending Gaetan pictures and info on the WC...looks promising...time will tell. Pass the word and hope we can get additional interest in this road and pack. Skip

Rolling Eyes Just sitting here wondering...if Gaetan will be putting some of the very early paint schemes of the WC in his WC creation? When the WC first started up they took over some equipment from the spin off Lake States Transportation Division/ Soo Line and equipment from the Soo Line, BN, ATSF and many other roads in the manner of power and rolling stock. Here is an ex SOO gon in WC stencil...makes for some vintage history of the WC. http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=83943.....perhaps Gaetan would create some of those great pulpwood car loads of his with this style car. Wink Good evening, well we now know that the WC made the list of four roads to be painted...what we do not know is what Gaetan will have in the WC Pack......what ever roster of power and rolling stock he comes up with, well we know it will be good. Just wondering if we may see this car? http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/wc/ssam208088sea.jpg

Rick, they look like ballast or aggregate/gravel hoppers. Note the side chutes.

Good evening, you are correct in both terms....used as cars to move aggregate loads or converted into ballast cars. Here is a shot of an AC aggreate car...one can find shots of AC cars converted to ballast cars...the WC used the cars for both uses. As time took its toll or as the need for the railroad presented it self. Skip http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/misc-a/ac8435dsa.jpg

From the short period of the SOO LINE,with its seperate Lake States Division after the purchase of the Milwaukee Road, to the SOO LINE selling the Lake States which was to become part of the new Wisconsin Central....well the new road was a rainbow of colors from roads that WC would purchase power and cars from. When can only wait to see what Gaetan's WC Pack will look like.....The WC purchased power and cars from such railroads as the AC,BN,SOO,N&W,AT&SF,Fox Valley, GB&W, MK, SP C&NW...and who knows what others. Through mergers and purchases...the WC was colorful until its paint program caught up with the diesel fleet and rolling stock into WC colors. Skip

Well we know the listing of the three roads that Gaetan stated was slated for the production line....one has to wonder how the WC fleet is progressing; what cars will we see and is this unit on the production line? One can almost smell the fresh paint of Gaetan's assembly line. All good things take time. Skip

Like this GP35M WC unit in the hold at Green Bay, Wisconsin yard....Gaetan has a few more units and roads to clear before the WC will be given the green lamp...all good things take time. In the mean time we get to see new power in vintage roads from Gaetan and his crew. Skip
