Is there a fix or will there be one for the misaligned needles in the gauges in this engine. I know it's a nitpick, but it's not the kind of attention to detail that I've come to expect from these quality models. No criticism, I've not enough experience or skill to be a critic, but as a consumer I'm exercising my right of inquiry. Almost all the others from you guys and others have excellent postioning ... right on center .... these are WAY off. gs

Which gauge? All 5 of mine ( speed, load, the 2 brake gauges and the one on the right ) are all centered on mine |

After bandorr2000 mentioned no problem with gauges, a light went on .. small wattage of course... I was running OR... so upon checking in MSTS, the guages are correct, needles properly centered ... The top two center Brake Pressure Gauges. Will mention it at Elvas....someone who can please forward my apologies to GB and notify him of my mistake. If he has a solution to the OR problem that would be great. By the way I do Love OR, use it as the default sim platform....routes and models look great ... it is a work in progress... getting better all the time....while MSTS is a piece of work that stops progress, (stop the booing and hissing now) Cheers, trevithick
and....read the FAQ's discovered why I could not upload my jpgs..duh! |

Thanks Gaetan.
Well I found the section in the CVF that had the needle positioning values, no problem I thought, just readjust for OR and we're running again. Not as simple as I thought. First, I copied the CVF before making changes!! ... Then it became hilarious, first vanishing needles....changes in values too big, figured out X&Y axis but it's not as simple as centering the needles in the middle of the gauge, I got them to swing through an arc, but never around a fixed center point. What's the secret..someone have the codebook? They float around the gauge nicely, not too accurate though! Copied back the original CVF and I'm back to where it started. I can't figure out why these specific eng have the difference between OR and MSTS when other eng gauges are centered and work properly in both platforms. Have not checked the other GP9's yet, been fixated on this specific set. Any help anyone would be appreciated. Cordially, trevithick (gerry) |

This is actually a problem (known) in OR. Some have been fixed, others are still being worked on. I have some Dekosoft engines that have the needles okay in OR, and some that have the problem you describe. I'm sure eventually the OR team will get that solved, along with all the other glitches they still have. |
