|
|
I am new to this forum so I hope I don't make mistakes.
I purchased the B&O Pack that has the E8 & E9 and also the cabview.
Pressing #1 gives me an excellecent cabview but it is set to high. I can't see the tracks. If I press #5 I get another cabview that is rough but it is set at the correct level. How can I adjust cabview #1 to be lower?
Thanks,

Hi Fred,
Here's something you can try.
First go into the folder "BLW_E8_B&O" and open the cabview folder. There should be a file called "E8Unit.cvf"
Make a copy of that file (always a good idea), then open the original in notepad or some other text editor.
The first few lines will look something like this:
Quote: |
SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0h0t______
Tr_CabViewFile (
CabViewType ( 2 )
CabViewFile ( ../../Common.Cab/BLW_Cab/E8_Cab/E9frnt1024.ace )
CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 )
CabViewWindowFile ( ../../Common.Cab/BLW_Cab/E8_Cab/E9frnt1024.ace )
Position ( 1 3.7 7.4 )
|
NOTE the line that starts with 'Position'. The numbers that follow are the location in meters of the Engineers Viewing position in X Y Z coordinates.
In the example above, the position is 1 meter to the right of center, 3.7 meters above the railhead and 7.4 meters in front of the center of the locomotive.
If you want to "lower" the view, just change the '3.7' to a lower number. Change it, try the loco out in the sim, then adjust as necessary.
Good luck. If you screw it up, you still have the copy!
Let us know how it works out.

Rick,
Thanks for the directions but I no luck. I tried it several times on two different days to make certain I was correctly doing was you advised. I checked two other tutorials and they said the same as you (not that I doubted you) except one suggested changing the Headout in the eng. file.
Maybe I have installed something worng. I am working with the B&O E8 &E9 #1441. I have also installed the New EUnit Cab. I am obviously missing something, just can't figure what.
Thanks,

Fred,
Send me the .eng file and the .cvf file you are using. I'll see if I can figure it out....
