Gaetan, cannot thank you enough for the vintage SD9 paint job of the C&NW unit....means a lot. Any chance in the future we C&NW fans may see a SD18 paint scheme of the C&NW You know, you can never have enough C&NW power in the yar or running the rails. Thanks again, Skip |

those C&NW SD9s are looking great!
Were they only used on passenger trains or also for freight service?

Sorry for the delay, someone asked if the C&NW SD9 was used in freight or passenger service....both. The C&NW also used the unit for commuter service in the Chicago area. C&NW had a history of first generation diesel power being built with some units of each order having steam generators. Some examples, GP7s,GP9s,SD9s, RSD4, &5s, dual service units. Now if we can get Gaetan to paint up some C&NW passenger cars to go with the SD9 unit.....Christmas is coming, perhaps as a present. Skip |
