2013 Veteran's Day Bonus for the BLW/ZT Troop Train Set
Baldwin DS-4-4-1000 NWSC #5
I should entitle this one, "With A Little Help From My Friends".
In the past, Gaetan and I have always stayed with 567 EMD and Alco models, because we neither had the cabviews or sounds for other maunfacturers locomotives.
When I decided to add a few old Baldwins to the soon to be released PRR 1950 set, I had a lot of help. I hope that I do not forget anyone...
- Steve 'noisemaker' West for the exquisite Baldwin 608SC sounds
- The Indiana Transportation Museum in Noblesville, IN, especially Michelle Yerkeson. For a nominal photographer's fee, I had all the time I needed and complete access to the cab of Baldwin switcher NKP #99 (and Monon SW1 DS-50) for cabview shots. They run an excellent operating museum out in Noblesville, if you get a chance, please stop by.
- My new partner and skilled re-skinner, Chris Parker, who had the original idea to model an NWSC Baldwin for the Veteran's Day bonus
- Andre Ming for providing the correct braking section for the ENG file.
- The crew at Elvas Tower for coming up with the idea of having the engineers view look left instead of straight ahead.
- Pete Mulvey for beta testing the unit, AND verifying that the "looking left" setup was exactly how he ran 'em, back in the day.
NOTE: The cabview is not completed. I ran out of time. I will provide an update in the next few weeks,
As always, my proceeds for the Troop train set goes to a veteran's charity.
I dedicate this to MY special veterans:
my 92 year-old Dad, Corporal John Franzosa - U S Army
my late Father-in-law, Corporal Lawrence Gormally - U S Army
my late Mother-in-law 2nd Lieutenant Nora Gormally - U S Army
and my son, Captain Benjamin Franzosa, currently deployed.

NOTE: I fixed a minor engine file issue just now (11/11/13 7:00 AM ET). Please redownload if you have already downloaded the archive.
Thanks to Rick Berg for finding and reporting the issue.

Had an OH CRAP moment....
David Carleton made a number of modifications to the ENG and sound files on my DS-44-1000, that mysteriously disappeared, most likely due to my excellent configuration management skills ...
If you have already downloaded the Troop Train bonus, please grab it again.
Apologies,
